Author Guidelines

Englisia Journal is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal accepting paper submissions in the field of English language teaching, innovation in language classroom, and various subfields of applied linguistics. Submitted writing must adhere to the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, 6th Edition (APA 6th) available for download here.

Authors need to register with the journal prior to submitting or, if already registered, can simply log in and begin the five-step process. Please adhere to the following guide for submission consistency:

  1. The submitted writing should be in Microsoft Document file format (.docx format is recommended) and should not exceed 2 MegaBytes in size.
  2. Illustration and tables should be carefully checked for dimension and resolution. Normally tables should fit in A4 portrait page orientation, although in some cases it needs to be fully stretched in landscape page orientation. Images need to be properly cropped and not over-compressed to maintain eligibility.
  3. Vector drawings (such as diagrams, image arts, charts, etc.) in Microsoft Words need to be grouped for shape and design consistency to avoid damage during layout.
  4. Any additional documents should be submitted separately (in a separate file) during the submission process.

Abstract and keywords are required upon submission. Make sure that it is already been checked for writing errors before filling the abstract and keyword form. Your abstract should:

  1. Provides a synopsis of the entire article.
  2. Starts with the broad context of the study, followed by a specific background for the study.
  3. Describes the purpose, methods and procedures, core findings and results, and conclusions of the study.
  4. Emphasizes new or important aspects of the study.
  5. Engages the broad readership of ELT and be understandable to a diverse audience (avoid using jargon).
  6. Be a single paragraph of less than 300 words.
  7. Not contain citations or uncommon abbreviations.

As parts of Blind Review Policy, every submitted writing should not present the author's name(s); either in the filename or the body text of the file. Once the submission process has been completed, the board of the editor of the journal will notify the author and proceed with the initial review process. Submissions will be checked for writing consistency, adherence to the submission guide, referencing style, and topic relevance. Only accepted paper will be sent to reviewers, whilst the rejected submission will be returned to the author.
